Mostly Grenache from a great vintage, how bad can it be? So I bought one. Turned out to be a dumb question. This was dark and brooding, funky, almost bitter. Funk blew off after a few hours but that was it. Day two turned a little brighter but still nothing to get excited about. Guigal's lowly CdR (not Villages, not Visan) is better and a few bucks cheaper.

Popped and poured and it was a bit bitter and needed food. After three days in the fridge I thought it was much better with the fruit showing much more.

I have had at least six bottles of this wine. One bottle was ordinary and quite different suggesting a quality control issue. The other bottles were very smooth and pleasantly aged with none of the acidity that often characterize Cotes du Rhone wines. At $11.99, I view it as an unusually good table wine and a pleasure to drink. I do not recognize the wine described by the other reviewers and joined PAWineTalk only to say that. Again, it might be a quality control issue. If so, I hope they solve as they have good product.

Thanks frand, and welcome! Where/when did you get it for $11.99 (or did you have that price wrong)?

Hi Mark. I came back looking for a place to buy it again. I bought it in a local state liquor store in State College and also in Altoona. i think I will have to go to Languedoc to find it again. How I wish! Yes that is the price I paid. On my last bottle now.
