Definitely a fun wine to try, but tough to rate. At $25, I'd encourage everyone to get at least one bottle, just to experience it. But is it worth buying more than that? Hard to say. This Barolo is certainly looking at its best days in the rearview, but it's still got some pleasure to offer. Nice nose of earth and truffle, a touch of cherry throughout, lots of acidity. http://bit.ly/PDFSC8

My 2nd bottle was noticeably better... but same ideas apply.

What a difference in tasting this away from the PAW tasting #30, where I thought it held up OK. Nose & palate are tired, one dimensional. Still a nice Old World sensibility about it, lots of sour cherry & acidity galore but the mouthfeel is gone. Much better with the pizza at dinner. Glad to have a whack at it for $25 but also glad I didn't get more.

Lots of Cherry and nice acidity. A line of seawater or sweat running throughout the palate... but not off putting. This is the oldest wine I've tried to date and possibly the first Barolo that is not young. I did like it but I agree that one bottle was enough.

Absolutely wonderful. Elegant, refined, complex -- this bottle shows the purpose and value of cellaring. Decanted about 90 minutes before drinking. Upon pouring the bouquet is of dried flowers and forest fruits. Flavors of cherry, mushroom, truffle. The structure of this wine is essentially perfect - the tannic scaffolding is all there but goes completely unnoticed. Anyone who was disappointed with this wine and has bottles they would like to sell, let me know.
