Lovely aroma is more savory than fruity. Mushrooms (especially right away), tar, and a bit of smoke. Palate features ripe red fruits; strawberry, cherry and raspberry. Notes of vanilla and spice on the finish. Oak is wonderfully integrated – plays a role but but does not overwhelm, plus adds creaminess to the body. Lots of acidity makes this a wonderful food wine (paired amazingly with a tomato-based pork ragu). One of the better Barberas I’ve had, and nice QPR at $16 – went out today and got some more... http://bit.ly/zX4zLr

Very nice nose of somewhat muted fruit, mineral, spice, and perhaps a bit of vanilla. On the palate, there is a literal medley of ripe red fruit mixed with earth and light oaky flavors – very delicious. The acidity is excellent, and as songoose noted, a good match for many dishes. Bought 2 and will be back for more at this price.
