Some good funk on the nose along with pencil led, red berries and pie crust – I like it. Definitely some sour cherry on the palate along with earthy characteristics. This wine needs time to come together further, but has decent potential. Prefer this over the Saint-Joseph Les Coteaux 2009 Syrah. The Cornas just appeals to me and that’s a direct result from exposure via our Pitt tastings.

Herbal nose, lots of greenness Palate is more green herbal- sage, pepper dominant, strong flavor Secondary is earth, dark fruit, meaty, tannic. Young but hopefully some of the greenness will blow off with age. Hard to rate right now.

Some fruit (but not overwhelming) and interesting, but it cries out for food. We had it with bulgogi (Korean barbecue), but it really needs pork or lamb since this is on more of the delicate side. Not much on the backend–a good finish, but not much in the way of tannin. I would say I would buy some more of this, but I plan on drinking it in the short term. Very Good. 88 points.

Nice wine. Decanted about an hour, and it got better as we drank it. Aroma really moved towards smoky bacon as time went on, with some pepper and spice as well. Blackberries on the palate with more bacon. Finish just ok but nicer with food. Paired quite well, not surprisingly, with duck breast and shroomy grains. A lot good here, but nothing spectacular. Not sure this has the stuffing to age too long - I'd drink over the next year or two. A much better deal at the sale price of $20 than the original $30.

I first had this beauty about the same time the earliest review above was submitted and shared those same sentiments about it at that time. I also laid down 5 bottles in my cellar and have been greatly rewarded for doing so. It has matured into a seamless and flawless gem that few wines at any tag could rival Pairing it with a rack of lamb constituted a marriage made in heaven!
